Borderline personality disorder is a mental health disorder that impacts the way you think and feel about yourself and others, causing problems functioning in everyday life. People with BPD have distorted images of themselves, and typically due to having poor self-image, it in turn leads a pattern of unstable relationships.
I was diagnosed as having BPD in my early 20’s after being misdiagnosed as Bipolar since a teenager. Having borderline has directly impacted every relationship in my life (from my family whom are my biggest triggers) to romantic relationships, and as an empathetic person, I have attracted my fair share of toxic, energy robbing vampires.
Living with a mental illness of any kind includes some of the hardest battles a person can fight, because the monsters are inside of your own head.
